Members prepare to put their best foot forward to raise funds for the group

Members of Bolsover Drama Group will be taking part in a sponsored walk this August bank holiday to raise funds for the group. The 10 mile long circular walk will take place on Sunday 30th August, starting and ending at the Pillar of Rock (Wetherspoon) pub, Bolsover. Work being undertaken at the Chapel

It has been a busy few months at the Bannister Chapel in Shuttlewood, the group’s largest asset and the location for scenery construction and storage for props and costumes. Renovations to the toilet area in the Bannister Chapel   As part of our ongoing programme of maintenance, repairs and improvements the toilet and kitchen areas have been decorated and a new room created to enable our props to be stored and catalogued. Renovations to the kitchen area in the Bannister Chapel   While our members try to do as much as they can, if you (or someone you know) would be willing to provide expertise, time, equipment or materials to assist us with this project please contact the group .  We would be willing to display your name or the name of your company as part of our Front of House display, programmes and publicity communications for our subsequent productions as a thank you.

Bolsover Drama Group take part in the Hornscroft Gala

Members of Bolsover Drama Group helped to run a book stall at the recent Bolsover Gala at Hornscroft Park to promote the Youth Section production of Little Shop of Horrors and raise funds for the group. The group would like to thank all those who donated books for sale or volunteered on the day

Success for Bolsover Drama Group at the NODA East Midlands Awards

We were proud to have received the award for the best pantomime for East Midlands region 2 at the recent NODA East Midlands Awards day for our production of ‘Aladdin’. The ceremony, which took place on Sunday 14th June at Loughborough Town Hall, also saw the group nominated in the Youth category for region 2 for the Youth Section’s production of ‘Guys & Dolls Jr’ – the first time we have been nominated for this category. The chance to be nominated for awards such as this is one benefit we gain from being affiliated to NODA, the National Operatic and Dramatic Association, who also offer advice, information and workshops to amateur dramatics groups throughout the country.

The cast for our musical Bonnie and Clyde is announced
