Bolsover Drama Group

Members of the group cross the Monsal Dale viaduct during the 2010 sponsored walk On Sunday 29 th August members and friends of Bolsover Drama Group took part in their sponsored walk through the Monsal Dale to Monsal Head, returning via Water-cum-Jolly.  Despite a heavy rain shower as the walk was due to depart Miller’s Dale Station spirits were not dampened and a thoroughly enjoyable day was had by all that took part. The sponsored walk is an event we hold every two years and helps us to raise funds for the group and the maintenance of the Bannister Chapel, the group’s largest asset and the location used for the designing, construction and painting of set and scenery. We would like to thank all those that took part and those that offered to support the group by sponsoring members to take part.

Members of the group ready to set off for the 2008 Sponsored Walk Members of the group will be taking part in a sponsored walk this summer to help raise funds for the group and the upkeep of the Bannister Chapel.  The group organise a sponsored walk every two years, which is open to members of the adult and youth sections, and friends and family of the group. Following on from an enjoyable and successful walk in the summer sunshine from Darley Bridge to Youlgreave and back in 2008 the group will be taking in the picturesque Monsal Dale and surrounding area. This year’s walk will be held on Sunday 29th August, starting at 10.00am at Miller’s Dale Station and takes in the picturesque surroundings of Monsal Dale from Miller’s Dale to Monsal Head via Water-cum-Jolly, returning along the Monsal Trail – a total distance of 12.5km (7¾ miles) including stops at The Monsal Head Hotel and the Angler’s Rest.
