The cast for our pantomime 'Aladdin' has been announced

The casting committee met on Thursday 10 October at 19:30 at the Blue Bell to cast the pantomime Aladdin:

The casting committee consisted of:

  • Mick Whitehouse – Director
  • Leanne Collins – Director
  • Pat Sabin
  • Ken Radmore
  • Janet Koszegi

Independent observer – Barbara Booth

As always the casting of the pantomime is never easy and this time has been no exception. There are always more members than we can cast and this does leave some members disappointed. On behalf of the committee I would like to thank everyone who self-nominated for the parts.

People nominated themselves as follows:

  • Aladdin – 4 Members
  • Wishee Washee – 7 Members
  • Widow Twankee – 7 Members
  • Princess Manderin – 4 Members
  • So Shy – 4 Members
  • The Emperor – 4 Members
  • You Dun Wong – 13 Members
  • Hu Don Pong – 13 Members
  • Abannazar – 9 Members
  • Spirit of the Ring – 6 Members
  • Genie of the Lamp- 7 Members

The casting criteria used was:

  • Is the member suitable for the part (singing, acting, dancing, gender, appropriate age)
  • Did the member have a part in the last musical
  • Did the member have a part in the last pantomime or play
  • Does the member have opportunities for parts in other productions
  • Experience – does the part require someone with experience or can it be used to develop the member
  • Attendance record
  • Attitude & commitment during rehearsals (i.e. informing when not coming),
  • Service to the group
