The Youth Section showcase night was held on Saturday 17th November 2012 at the Bolsover Assembly Rooms. A sell-out evening saw members of the youth section perform a version of Charles Dickens’ ‘A Christmas Carol’, produced and directed by members of the Youth Section, followed by singing, dancing and piano-playing performances.

The evening was concluded with the presentation of awards for attendance and long service and the Jack Elliott Trophy.

The Jack Elliott Trophy recognises a youth member or youth members who have over a number of years continually demonstrated commitment to the group, an Excellent attendance record, excellent attitude and excellent behaviour – the decision on who receives this award is made by the people who work with our youth section.

The award for 2012 was presented to Kieran Buck, who, as well as taking the lead role in last year’s production of ‘Summer Holiday’, was also involved in musical direction for the production of ‘A Christmas Carol’.
