Success for our pantomime Sleeping Beauty

Sleeping Beauty directors Leanne and Mick Whitehouse receiving the award for Best Pantomime (District 2) at the NODA East Midlands awards day

We were proud to receive the award for Best District Pantomime for District 2 at the recent NODA East Midlands awards day for our 2011 pantomime, Sleeping Beauty.

The award was presented at the NODA East Midlands awards day at Loughborough Town Hall on Sunday 27th May, where presentations were made to a number of amateur dramatics groups based within the East Midlands.

Sleeping Beauty was our first production to be held at the new Bolsover School, and as such was a big learning curve, so it is nice to see that our hard work was recognised.

The chance to be nominated for awards such as this is one benefit we gain from being affiliated to NODA, who also offer advice, information and workshops to amateur dramatics groups throughout the country.  NODA are the National Operatic and Dramatic Association – the UK-wide representative body for amateur theatre, which Bolsover Drama Group are affiliated to.
